West Nile Rural Electrification Company (WENRECo) has partnered with five districts in the region to improve the performance of candidates in Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
In this partnership, the company will facilitate assessments for candidates, career guidance for learners, and outreaches programs with education stakeholders.
These will done with technical guidance from education officials district benefit in the partnership, including Maracha, Terego, Yumbe, Zombo, and Arua.
According to the General Manager at WENRECo, Kenneth Kigumba, the partnership is a contribution to address PLE performance in the districts.
Three schools from each of the districts will be selected by the education office to benefit from the company's Corporate Social Responsibility.
Maracha District Education Officer, Edward Andruga, is hopeful that the intervention will have impact in Oleba, Yivu, and Oluvu Primary Schools where the activities are implemented.
Similarly, Terego District Education Officer, Charles Dradria, is optimistic that this intervention will add on their programs aimed at improving performance.
In Maracha District, the program started last year and has now expanded to others, seeing an increased number of benefiting schools rise from 3 to 15.
These will benefit from learning activities like continuous assessments for candidates.
