Exam Body Urges Public to Wait for Official Announcement
The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has issued a press statement today, Thursday, February 6th, addressing misinformation circulating on social media regarding the release date of the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results.
According to the statement, UNEB clarified that false reports have been spreading online, misleading students, parents, and stakeholders about when the UCE results will be officially released.
The board emphasized that any credible information regarding the results will be communicated through official UNEB channels, including their website and verified social media pages.
Every year, as students eagerly await their examination results, social media platforms become flooded with speculation and rumors. While some of these reports may be based on patterns from previous years, UNEB has consistently cautioned against relying on unofficial sources for crucial updates.
The 2024 UCE results are of great interest to thousands of students who sat for the national examinations last year. Given the importance of these results in determining the next academic steps for candidates, the spread of misinformation has caused unnecessary anxiety and confusion.
In its statement, UNEB urged the public to remain patient and disregard any unofficial reports. The board reassured candidates and their guardians that an official release date will be communicated at the appropriate time.
"We advise the public to treat all information regarding the release of #UCE2024 results with caution unless it comes directly from UNEB,” the statement read in part.
To avoid falling victim to false information, UNEB encouraged the public to rely on the following sources for accurate updates:
As candidates await their results, UNEB continues to finalize the marking and quality assurance processes. Once the official release date is set, the board will provide detailed instructions on how students can access their results via SMS, online portals, and school centers.
UNEB’s latest clarification serves as a strong reminder that misinformation can spread quickly, especially during high-stakes periods such as exam results season. Candidates and parents are advised to remain patient, stay informed through official channels, and avoid sharing unverified reports.
