Terego, Uganda – In a move aimed at formalizing and boosting local enterprises, the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is set to conduct a mass business registration exercise in Terego District. The registration campaign is scheduled to run from Monday, April 28th to Friday, May 2nd, 2025.

According to URSB officials, the initiative is part of the Bureau’s nationwide efforts to enhance access to formal markets, financial services, and legal protection for local businesses through official registration.

The week-long exercise will target both new and existing businesses operating without formal registration, offering them an opportunity to obtain business names, register companies, and access advisory services on compliance and enterprise development.

Speaking ahead of the rollout, a URSB representative emphasized the importance of formal registration in driving economic growth and improving accountability among entrepreneurs. “We want to ensure that even the smallest businesses in rural areas like Terego can benefit from the opportunities that come with formalization, including access to credit, legal identity, and business protection,” the official stated.

The registration centers will be set up at strategic locations across the district to ensure accessibility for residents in all sub-counties. Local leaders and business community members have been urged to mobilize and take full advantage of the exercise.

URSB further noted that this campaign is also in line with government initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, improving the ease of doing business, and boosting revenue collection through expanded registration.

Business owners are encouraged to carry valid identification documents and any relevant business records when attending the registration sessions.
