The territorial Police of Ayivu West Division of Arua City have arrested two suspects inclusive of a midwife over theft of drugs at Adumi health Centre four.
The two suspects who were arrested on 27th//11/2022 at 7:05AM have been identified as Mrs. Antoniata Nyakuru - a 43 years old, a midwife at the health Centre, a resident of Barize cell, Ombaci ward, Ayivu Division and her accomplice Mrs. Judith Atako, 30 years old, a housewife and resident of Ambala cell ,Nyiovura ward, Ayivu division.
This was confirmed to our reporter by the Public Relations Officer of West Nile sub region, Mrs. Josephine Angucia in her office in Arua city on Tuesday 29th/11/2022.

A team of police rushed to scene arrested the two suspects, recovered from them the two bags containing assortments of government drugs including 25 boxes of atesonate injection drugs, one box of coartem for children, 300 pieces of amoxicillin, capsules, 214syringes and 161 pieces of surgical gloves, all valued at approximately one million shilling Ugandan shillings.
PRO Angucia revealed that the police obtained the report from the division mayor of Arua, Malon Avutia over the stolen drugs.

She further stressed that the investigation into the matter are ongoing under Ayivu division CRB 161/2022.
On 3rd of October 2022, police of Ayivu West also arrested three people and recovered stolen sterilizers and surgical equipment belonging to the same health center.
Those that were arrested are Matua Alfred peasant farmer, of Ojovu cell, Etori ward Ayivu division, Candiru Rebecca 40 years, a business woman, resident of Ozuvu cell, Kenya ward and Duba Jackson 53 years - watchman at Adumi health center and later was recovered and the police handed back the stolen equipment to the management of the health center on 07th/10/2022.
