Arua City police have arrested two officers for allegedly facilitating the escape of two suspects from custody.
The officers, identified as Justo Wadri and Richard Kilama, were attached to Oluko Police Post in Amvua Cell, Ombokolo Ward, Ayivu East Division. They were apprehended after allegedly allowing two unidentified individuals to enter the police cells and release suspects Owen Anguyo and Bernard Yoyo.
Asea Collins, the Regional Police Spokesperson for the West Nile sub-region, confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities are now working to recapture the escaped suspects while disciplinary action is being taken against the implicated officers.
