Terego, March 27, 2025 — The Terego District Council has strongly condemned the illegal demonstration staged on March 25, 2025, targeting Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Godwin Angalia.
During a special council sitting held on March 27, District Chairperson Wilfred Saka expressed disapproval of the protest, noting that many participants lacked a clear understanding of its purpose. He reaffirmed his commitment to working with any RDC assigned to the district, including Angalia.
“I am ready to cooperate with any RDC deployed to serve the people of Terego,” Saka stated.
The leader of Government Business and Vice Chairperson LCV, Sunday Ayikoru, echoed the Chairperson’s sentiments, praising RDC Angalia for fostering unity in the district and condemning the protest as unproductive.
Hon. Siraji Onzima, the male representative for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), went a step further, calling for those involved in the demonstration to be held accountable.
In response to the incident, RDC Angalia, who was transferred to Terego in September 2024, maintained that the protest would not affect his working relationship with the district leadership and technical teams.
He insisted on receiving an apology from those who organized and participated in the protest.
“My commitment to serve alongside the district chairperson, CAO, councillors, and technical staff remains unchanged,” Angalia affirmed.
The council concluded the session by urging residents to embrace dialogue and unity as the means to address any concerns in the district.
