Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived in South Sudan at the invitation of His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit. The visit underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthening bilateral relations and fostering regional cooperation.
In a statement upon his arrival, President Museveni expressed his anticipation for discussions that will enhance collaboration between Uganda and South Sudan. "I look forward to our discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between our two nations," he stated.
The meeting between the two leaders is expected to focus on key areas of mutual interest, including trade, security, infrastructure development, and regional stability. Uganda and South Sudan share strong historical ties, with Uganda playing a crucial role in South Sudan’s peace process and economic development.
Officials from both governments have expressed optimism that the talks will yield agreements that will further cement the partnership between the neighboring countries.
