Seventy [70] shortlisted applicants turned up for the Uganda police Probationer constables recruitment exercise for West Nile sub region on day one. While addressing journalists on Thursday 20th/10/2022 at Arua public primary in Arua city, the police spoke person for west Nile sub region, Josephine Angucia revealed that  they were eighty eight[88] shortlisted applicants that  were expected to  turn up for the interview exercise but they have only received 70 of them.

The resident district commissioner of Arua, George Owinyi commented the police officers that are conducting the recruitment exercise for being very transparency.

Comfort Edenia, one of the shortlisted applicants that came for the interview expressed joy by saying that becoming a police officer  was her dream.

Patrick Anjiku also one of the applicants from Anguruba village, Ringili parish, Vurra sub county ,Arua district says that the reason he intending to  join police is because of lack school fees to further his Education level.

The police force was founded in 1899 as the Uganda armed constabulary and has changed many times over the years .The current Uganda police force has more than 40,000 officers in total in the whole country.
