In the recent concluded Arua city mock examinations set by Arua city academic board – ACAB, at least 4,815 pupils out of the total number registered 7435 failed the examination that computed to 64.8% According to the data provided in the result analysis document, out of the total number, only 2,620 pupils passed giving 35.2%, where 269 excelled in division one, 1397 in division two and 954 in division three but the rest in other grades failed. 

The best subject done by the pupils is social studies at 34% followed by science at 26%,  English language at 25%, and mathematics is the worst performed at 11% that frustrates the  stakeholders. The report indicates that Oasis primary school Main Campus at Abirici tops the ten best schools at 85.5% performance rate that did well followed by St. Kizito Orphanage primary school, Queens and Kings and among others. While releasing the result on Tuesday 1st October 2024 at arua public primary school, Zilly Buuza, the inspector of schools for arua city termed this performance as poor attributing it to under teaching where syllabus is not completed, but she believes that something can be done to change the performance of the pupils in the final primary living examination. Cue; Zilly…..we are very far from the UNEB standard……… Amagule Gift, the chairperson for arua city head teachers association said that the poor performance is due to the difficult community the teachers are working in where the situations are dire that needs government intervention. Cue; Gift…….we are working in very difficult community…….. However, Patrick Adrole, the head teacher Oasis primary school main campus at Abirici attributed their better performance to hard work and dedication by the parents, teachers and pupils towards education. Cue; Head teacher........I am grateful to God for this result But David Kyasanku, the town clerk for Arua city tasks the school administrators to draw better work plan within the remaining days to ensure that the pupils perform well in this year’s final primary leaving examination. Cue; Town Clerk……draw a different work plan…… The national primary leaving examination set by Uganda National Examinations Board is expected to kickoff at the beginning of November.
