Rt rev Nelson Onono Onweng,  the retire bishop of Diocese of Northern Uganda of Church of Uganda appealed to Stanbic bank management to consider offering scholarship for poor children whose parents cannot Educate them.

He made the remark recently at the Stanbic bank Gulu branch during the launch of two days trade show expose that was organized in Gulu for the traders in Northern Uganda to showcase their goods by the bank , in his speech he noted that  most of the children of the poor parents do not move further with Education due to lack of school fees.

One of the Stanbic clients identified as Denis Pikisa a person with vision impairment a resident of Nebbi and a teacher by profession appreciated the management of the bank for taking proper care of people leaving with disability that has enable him now to borrow 10 million from the bank.

He further congratulated Stanbic bank for the continuous support it renders to the visually impaired persons like him.

The branch manager of Stanbic bank Arua branch, Rashul Umaru says that they do offers scholarship in the national level.

The executive director of Stanbic bank, Tony Otao similarly explained and outlined on the number of partnerships the bank has done through partners and further explained that the scholarship programs in place for any interesting person.

An estimated 240,000 pupils who are enrolled in primary one under the universal  primary school Education [UPE] drop out before reaching primary four, according to the  studies carried out by ministry of Education and sports and elevated an Education NGO. The studies was carried in the  past two years of 2017 and 2018 in 150 government funded primary schools in the country.
