DILAPIDATED PAJULU BRIDGE FINALLY GETS HOPES OF CONSTRUCTION AS ARUA DISTRICT LEADERS HANDS SITE TO CONSTRUCTOR
Arua district local government leaders together with Arua city council authority has handed over a bridges construction site project of River Enyau one and two worth 5 billion shillings to a contractor identified as Niam Establishment limited for construction. The two sites of Enyau bridges that were handed over to the contractor for construction are Awindiri to Pajulu road in Enzoova cell Arua city, Odianyadri via Ajono to democratic republic of Congo road in Arua district. The district Engineer William Tiyo Odaa while addressing stakeholders during the hand over exercise at Enzoova cell in Pajulu on the same day revealed that the project is funded by government of Uganda through the ministry of lands and urban housing development under Uganda municipal support for infrastructure development additional refugee window fund.

The contract Agreement between the Niam Establishments limited the contractor and Arua district authority was signed on 20th/12/2022. The chief administrative officer of the district, Mark Bukenya appealed to the community to monitor the project very closely.

The deputy city clerk of Arua, Cornelius OJobile advised the community to protect the water buffer zone to avoid the destruction of the bridge they are constructing.
The women member of parliament for Arua city, hon Moreen Osoru warned the contractor and his staffs ahead of the start of the work against pregnating young girls in the area.

The technical director of Niam Establishments Limited, Edward Muyingo promised on behalf the of the company to deliver excellent work.
The bridge construction that started with hand over site to the contractor on 04th/10/2022 is expected to be completed in the next eight months.
For starters, the Enyau Bridge at Pajulu and Enzoova Bridge connects Arua City and Arua district to the major economic points. Whereas the Dilapidated Pajulu Bridge connects Arua City Center to the oldest processing plant of British America Tobacco Company at Pajulu, Enzoova cell cell bridge connects Arua to Democratic Republic Of Congo.

The two bridges had become impassable as the heavy downpours had almost carried them all hence this event marks an important achievement to their construction.
