Kampala, Uganda – The leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, and the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, have decided to resolve their longstanding political tensions through a boxing match.
Gen. Muhoozi, who has a history of making threats against Bobi Wine, recently took to Twitter to reiterate his aggressive stance, including remarks about ending the opposition leader’s life. However, in a surprising turn, the leader of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) suggested settling their differences in the ring, acknowledging Bobi Wine’s well-known passion for boxing.

It didn’t take long for the former Kyadondo East MP to respond. Bobi Wine accepted the challenge under specific conditions. He stated that if he lost the match, he would quit politics. However, if Gen. Muhoozi lost, he would have to give up alcohol. Bobi Wine also left it to Muhoozi to decide the time and location of the fight.

The "Aidah" singer, who was once a professional boxer, has maintained his passion for the sport throughout his music and political career. Even today, he continues to train for leisure. On the other hand, Gen. Muhoozi, despite undergoing extensive military training at Sandhurst Military Academy in the UK, does not appear particularly athletic.
While it remains uncertain whether this high-stakes boxing match will actually take place, it has already captured the public’s imagination. If it happens, it promises to be an unforgettable event in Uganda’s political and sports history.
