As Easter celebrations commence across the region, the Bishop of Madi West Nile Diocese, Rt. Rev. Charles Collins Andaku, has called on Christians to uphold their faith and stay away from practices that contradict Christian teachings.

In his Easter message, Bishop Andaku urged believers to reject witchcraft, idol worship, and all forms of spiritual compromise, stressing that such practices are not only misleading but also dangerous to one’s faith.

“Easter is a time to reflect on the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, not a season for indulging in worldly pleasures or treating it merely as a holiday,” the Bishop stated.

He also warned against the growing influence of false prophets who, he said, are leading many astray with deceptive teachings and promises.

"Stay rooted in the Word of God. Do not be swayed by sweet talk and false hope. Let Christ remain the centre of your faith," he added.

Bishop Andaku’s message comes at a time when churches are witnessing an increase in attendance as many flock to celebrate one of the most significant events on the Christian calendar. His remarks serve as a reminder to remain vigilant, faithful, and committed to Christian values amid the celebrations.

The Bishop concluded by encouraging Christians to use the Easter period as an opportunity for spiritual renewal and to recommit their lives to Christ.
