Arua, Uganda – April 16, 2025 — The Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, Bishop of Arua Diocese, announced a number of key clergy appointments during the annual Chrism Mass held today at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ediofe.
Among the notable changes, Fr. Terry Madra has been appointed as the new Judicial Vicar for Arua Diocese. He previously served as the Assistant Pastoral Coordinator.
Fr. Felix Opima, who has been serving as the Parish Priest of Oli Parish, has now been appointed as the new Pastoral Coordinator for the diocese. Taking over at Oli Parish is Monsignor Primus Asega, who will serve as the Acting Parish Priest.
In the Maracha Vicariate, Msgr. Mathias Miria has been retired from his role as the Episcopal Vicar for Maracha. His successor is Fr. Godfrey Aluonzi, who has been appointed as the new Episcopal Vicar for Maracha. Fr. Aluonzi also serves as the Director of the Maracha Catechist Training Center.
The appointments take immediate effect and are part of the bishop’s efforts to strengthen pastoral leadership and service delivery across the diocese.
The Chrism Mass, one of the most significant liturgical celebrations in the Catholic calendar, saw participation from clergy, religious, and lay faithful from across the diocese.
