Airtel Uganda Expands Network with Seven New Sites in Arua City.

Airtel Uganda has reinforced its pledge to bridge the digital divide and empower communities in the West Nile region with the commissioning of seven new network sites across Arua City.

The newly launched sites—strategically located in Arua National Water, Arua Town, Nvara Ward, Pangisa Ward, Arua Hospital, Zambia Zone, and Onzivu—are now fully operational. 

The development is expected to improve call clarity, internet speeds, and overall digital access for thousands of users in the region.

At the commissioning ceremony, Airtel Uganda’s Regional Business Manager for West Nile, Martin Kawule, described the move as part of the telecom company’s broader goal to support education, economic development, and healthcare delivery through strong connectivity.

“Connectivity is more than just a service; it is a gateway to education, business growth, healthcare, and financial inclusion,” Kawule said. “For Arua to thrive as a hub of regional trade, education, and innovation, a strong, reliable network is essential. Today’s launch of seven new sites marks a major step in delivering on that promise.”

The event was also attended by Rt. Rev Charles Collins Andaku, Bishop of the Diocese of Madi Nile, who hailed Airtel’s investment as a transformative milestone for the region.

“Airtel Uganda’s investment in our region lays a strong foundation for future collaborations,” Bishop Andaku remarked. “This infrastructure promotes entrepreneurship, empowers youth through ICT, and enhances communication for health and social services—including telemedicine and digital health solutions.”

He also encouraged churches and faith-based institutions to leverage the enhanced connectivity for digital evangelism and community outreach.

The expansion follows commitments made by Airtel Uganda during a townhall meeting held last year at the College in Arua, where residents voiced concerns over network limitations. According to Kawule, the new sites represent a promise fulfilled.

“We are grateful to the people of Arua for their trust in Airtel Uganda. We made a promise, and we have delivered,” he said. “Our mission remains clear—connecting West Nile to the world.”

With this expansion, Airtel Uganda continues to position itself as a leading force in digital transformation, enabling greater access to technology, innovation, and opportunities for communities across Uganda.
