Freeboy Adams Reveals Hit Song ‘Kwata Essimu’ Was Inspired by “Good Sex”

Arua — Ugandan singer Freeboy Adams has made a bold revelation about the inspiration behind his breakout hit Kwata Essimu, attributing the song’s creation to an intimate and therapeutic moment after what he describes as “some good sex.”Speaking candidly, Freeboy shared the unusual backstory behind the viral track that took airwaves by storm, admitting that the song started off as a playful tune for a woman he had just been with.

“I had some good sex, a good one,” Freeboy confessed. “I don’t know, my mind just kind of opened and I started singing and it was like a joke. I was just basically singing for this girl.

She then told me that it was a good sound that I could come up with a hit, and I have the recording.”

The artist went on to describe the moment as magical, emphasizing how sex can serve as therapy and creative fuel, though many are often unwilling to talk about it.

“There is magic, but some people don’t want to talk about it,” he said. “Sex is therapy.

Kwata Essimu, a collaboration with Winnie Nwagi, quickly became a street anthem and club banger, cementing Freeboy’s place in Uganda’s music scene. His latest confession sheds new light on the song’s origins and offers fans a glimpse into the personal experiences that sometimes shape creative expression.

As Freeboy continues to ride the wave of success, his openness about inspiration—however unconventional—adds a raw, human element to the music many have come to love.
