Moyo District – April 16, 2025

In a tense third-place playoff at the West Nile regional football championships, Moyo Star High School edged Arua Secondary School 5-4 in a dramatic penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regulation time. The win secured Moyo Star the final slot to represent the region at the 2025 USSSA National Football Championship to be held in Ngora District.

Arua SS held firm during regular play, matching Moyo Star in both attack and defense. However, it was the Moyo side that held their nerve in the shootout, converting all five spot-kicks while Arua SS missed one.

With this result, Moyo Star High joins regional champions Mvara Secondary School and runners-up Comboni Comprehensive School as West Nile's representatives in the boys' category at the national level.

The trio will carry the region’s hopes to Ngora as they face off with the best school teams from across the country in a tournament that promises intense competition and a showcase of young football talent.

West Nile has been a consistent powerhouse in school football, and all eyes will be on Mvara, Comboni, and Moyo Star to see how far they can go in this year's national contest.
