Arua Hill SC continues with their impressive run of the 2022/2023 Uganda Premier League season as they held the Prison's side - Maroons FC to a 3:1 defeat in Arua at Barifa stadium. Maroons FC had a better start of the play in the first 10 minutes of the game however the 12th minute own goal off Jacob Okaos header which would later put the ball into the nets as he clears a dangerous Kawawa strike hence a 1-0 score line as at the 12th minute of the play. 

The second half would later present more drama as defender Toha Rashid would put in a penalty kick extended the lead to a 2:0 defeat with more drama coming in from the pacey Maduka strikes, the Arua Hill SC team later extend the lead to 3:0. 

with a consolation goal coming through at the 83rd minute off Abraham Tusubira strike, the fulltime finally came to a 3:1. 

Forward Abdulahi Rashid Kawawa was named Pilsner man of the match for the game.

Arua Hill SC have now played two games and won two as they await to travel for their first away game to Lira as they face Blacks Powers in Matchday three. The team stats stands as follows;

Meanwhile back in kampala at the Philip Omondi Stadium, the angry KCCA FC gave the Vipers a 1-0 stun at home as they won the big boys encounter, edging StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions Vipers SC 1-0 at a packed MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday.

Rogers Mato scored the game’s only goal in the first half, heading in Pilsner Man of the Match Allan Okello’s teasing delivery.

KCCA’s second win in three matches has them in fourth place on six points, four behind pacesetters BUL.
This was Vipers second game of the season and their first defeat.

They drew goalless with Soltilo Bright Stars their opening match of the campaign. The Venoms have one point and sit 13th.

The game generally lacked the spark to match its build-up, but KCCA won’t care much about that as they took the stat that matters at this well attended fixture.

Coach Morley Byekwaso’s side lost this fixture 2-1 last season, but Okello and Mato combined on the sixth minute to ensure it was fully avenged.

New signing Darcy Mabaka Kipoyi, Livingstone Mulondo, Hillary Mukundane and Bright Anukani all came close for Vipers but the home side held on for all three points.

With the win the Startimes Uganda Premier League table continues to be shaky as teams get displaced as seen below as of match day four.
