Onduparaka FC still continues to search for a maximum point as they failed to produce any goals thus putting up a stalemate draw in Jinja at Kakindu against Gaddafi FC. Pilsner Man of the Match Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored a hat-trick for the hosts at Bombo Military Barracks Ground, while Hassan Kintu and Laban Tibita netted for Busoga. Busoga are ninth on three points from as many games. It is actually the visitors that got out of the blocks as early as the fifth minute when Kintu breached their defence. But Ahimbisibwe levelled matters for UPDF on 22 minutes when he connected home Davis Kasirye’s assist. Ahimbisibwe got his second six minutes later when he converted from the penalty spot. The striker sealed his hat-trick eight minutes into the second half, again taking full advantage of another Kasirye assist.
The hosts got a setback on 67 minutes when Donato Okello got matching orders following a second bookable offence. Busoga looked to exploit the numerical advantage and reduced the deficit with Tibita’s goal on 77 minutes, but UPDF held on for all three points.
