Onduparaka Football club's leads man Shaban Muhammad is battling it out with Vipers SC duo of Cesar Manzoki and Milton Karisa for Best Player of the 2021/22 season at the Pilsner Uganda PremierLeague end of season awards.The public have been asked to vote using the hashtag #PilsnerSUPLAwards.
FUFA Set 16th June 2o22 as tentative date for the Awards with Kati Kati Gardens as the proposed venue for the awards.
The public and other stakeholders including Journalists, Uganda Premier League Coaches and captains will vote on the three nominees before the respective winners are announced.
Cesar Manzoki scored 18 goals to finish as the top scorer.
He guided his team to the title with four assists to his name.
Shaban Muhammad was the second leading goal scorer with 15 goals, and scooped the Best Player of the month of April.
Meanwhile,Milton Karisa was the joint top assists provider with seven, tied with Saidi Kyeyune of URA FC.
Pilsner Lager will be the headline sponsor for the awards that were last held in 2016/17 when then KCCA FC striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma was crowned the best player of the season.
Muhammed Shaban was also a nominee in 2016/17 alongside Emmanuel Okwi, an SC Villa player by then.
Vipers or the Venoms dominate the list of nominees including tactician Roberto Oliveira who has been nominated for Coach of the season after scooping four monthly awards and He as well won the Uganda Premier League on his debut season with Viper SC.
