The 2022/2023 FUFA Big League season gets underway this Thursday (today) with thrilling action expected across the country. Many of the teams will seek to start on a perfect note in order to achieve the ultimate target of promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the end of the season.

Their massive recruitment tells it all with 16 new players confirmed early this week. Coach Angelo Lonyesi told dailywestnile.info that the team’s ambition is to return to the top flight and it is the reason for the massive recruitment.
‘Our main ambition is to return to the top-flight league. I am glad that the new recruits have quickly adapted and ready to execute. It is a marathon thus we need to treat each game as a final. We are looking forward to our first encounter against Lugazi FC which is a good team according to their preparations thus we can not underestimate them,’ he said.

Elsewhere, Mbarara City take on Booma FC, Luwero United face Kaaro Karungi while Soroti FC host Adjumani TC FC. The top three teams at the end of the season are promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with the bottom three relegated to their respective regional Leagues
