Founded in 2022 by visionary director Mr. Olema Hamza, Elite Sports Academy Arua has become a beacon of hope for young athletes in West Nile. Operating from the iconic Police Grounds in Arua, the academy provides training programs for boys and girls under two categories: Under-12 and Under-17.

Primarily active during holidays and weekends, the academy focuses on more than just sports. According to Olema, the goal is to develop children's talents while providing them with educational and spiritual foundations.

 “Our mission is to ensure that children use their talents as a bridge to access education and create opportunities beyond Uganda,” Olema said in an interview.

The academy’s core pillars—Education, Religion, and Football—reflect its holistic approach to nurturing young talent. It goes beyond developing future football stars, emphasizing the importance of academics and values-based training.Changing Lives Through TalentElite Sports Academy stands out in a region known for its rich but untapped athletic potential. 

By offering structured programs and exposure to competitive sports, the academy is paving the way for young players to showcase their skills on both local and international stages.

“Our ambition is to prepare these children for a future where their talents open doors to scholarships, education, and professional opportunities,” Olema explained.

Parents and Community RespondThe initiative has drawn praise from the community, with parents lauding the academy for creating a positive environment for their children. Ms. Jane Adiyo, a mother of two boys in the Under-17 category, expressed her gratitude: 

“This academy is a blessing for our children. It keeps them engaged, disciplined, and focused on their future.”

Local leaders have also commended the academy for promoting unity and instilling discipline among the youth. 

Mr. Moses Adiga, a sports enthusiast in Arua, remarked,

 “Programs like this give our children hope and purpose. It’s more than football—it’s about building a strong foundation for their future".
