KCCA FC secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Kuluva Rainbow FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 clash at Hospital View Arena, earning a spot in the Round of 16.
The Stanbic Uganda Cup, Uganda’s premier knockout football competition, has long been a battleground for top-flight clubs and underdogs alike. KCCA FC, one of the most successful teams in Ugandan football with multiple league and cup titles, faced off against Kuluva Rainbow FC, a spirited side eager to make a statement in the tournament.
KCCA FC wasted no time asserting their dominance, with striker Derrick Nsibambi netting twice in quick succession—first in the 3rd minute and again in the 7th—to give the visitors an early advantage. Despite KCCA’s strong start, Kuluva Rainbow FC showed resilience and fought back, eventually pulling a goal back in the 70th minute to set up a tense finish. However, KCCA held firm to seal the victory.
With this result, KCCA FC advances to the Round of 16, continuing their quest for another Stanbic Uganda Cup title.
