With lots headlines making rounds on Social Media on the alleged plan of the Arua City Council to effect a mandatory compliance for the two Uganda Premier League Clubs - Onduparaka FC & Arua Hill SC to start paying ground rent to the council. This was based on the fact that the two said Clubs in question use land belonging to the Council - Government aided school Ondupraka Primary and public field - Barifa Stadium respectively.
However in reaction to this, dailywestnile.info has got reliable information from the council in which some of the councilors have rubbished this report as negative media reporting. while quoting one of the councilor who was present during the discussion, she clearly spoke to dailywestnile.info on a phone interview that;
The Council sitting only wanted to understand better the MOU documents binding the two clubs in question to use public land since the council had got clear information that there was breach and violation of terms reported by the council authorities during inspection.
The Arua Council Sitting
In more text recorded interviews obtained from the said councilor in writing, she further stressed that;
The council only had tabled a motion on table to request administration of Arua Hill Stadium to avail to the Arua City Council the MOU of the stadium since its been built on a public land.
As per the case of Onduparaka FC, the council had tabled a report they obtained from the management of Onduparaka Primary (Head Teacher) who;
accused of Onduparaka FC of refusing to allow the school to use Ababet Greenlight stadium for the school in times of school ball games. This report was said to be based on the city council's monitoring visit at Onduparaka FC. The head teacher further complaint on the issue asking for the MOU that Onduparaka FC had signed with the Mvara based Church of Uganda administration to be availed to them since they have been always denied to use the pitch on grounds that the MOU bars Onduparaka from lending the pitch for trainings.
The headteacher of the Onduparaka further put it clear to the Arua City Council Monitoring team that previously Onduparaka FC had asked the pitch from school hence indicating clear that the football ground belongs to the school. According to the head teacher Onduparaka is suppose to remit the ground rend to the school of which its been remitting to the diocese.

Based on the above motion, the Arua City Council through it sitting only had requested for the MOUs from Onduparaka FC as well as the Arua Hill Stadium MOU.
However, on the efforts to get responses from Onduparaka through its media outlet, dailywestnile.info can confirm through this article that Onduparaka still treats this as rumors since the administration of the Arua City Council and Onduparaka Primary School has not yet formerly written to the club and so does it account to matter of clarification.
